CAR file of a fictional Brendan Gaughan #62 he DNQ'd at Las Vegas in 2001. the only info i had to go on that it's a Chevy, sponsored by The Orleans, and the number is 62. i based it off his 2003 red truck of the same sponsor. number by Masgrafx, logos by Masgrafx, Google and me, contigs by Masgrafx, pit crew by me, ratings by NRatings, render by ten0r's Screen Shot:
http://www.brendangaughanonline.com/picso.html Mystery just about solved, still no direct pics of the car though. This link has pics of the Orleans Shop taken 2 weeks before the race. They woulda had to have used a blue Napa car, that's all they had other than Hersall McGriff's green MBNA cars. Also his 2001 truck ran the same scheme as the Winston West car.
Best I can do: http://www.racingwest.com/drivers/photos.php/26/441/index.html#LargePhoto Is that the base you saw maybe Jet? That is his Winston West car from 2001 and Winston West cars I beieve fit the templates for Cup cars at that time, and it wasn't crazy to see a Winston West team renumber a car and go race the Cup series if an opportunity arose. I remember Scott Wimmer did that in 2000, renumbering his #28 ARCA car to #23 and removing all the lower series contigencies. http://www.jayski.com/schemes/2000/23att-side.jpg
I was a Brendan fan and I remember very vaguely being dissapointed he missed the show and seeing a blue car. I'm pretty sure it was just his Napa base from his truck that year with The Orleans on it instead, but then again I could be mistaking it as a Brandon Ash car from that same era...but I don't think it was red. Still really cool though.
no pics of the 62 there, but http://simracin40.proboards.com/index.cgi has a ton of rare photos of 2001 nascar cars. Some pics don't work, but theres still a ton of great pics of rare cars. Also, if I had to take a guess, the car was a Winston West car they renumbered and changed sponsor to use in the Cup race. It probably had his 2001 Napa scheme, not the typical Orleans scheme, but thats just a total guess.
