Nice set, better than rpmracin's 90 set, but can you add Phil Barkdoll's car? the 73 X1R Oldsmobile...rpmracin has a slight picture of it...

Wow! over 4000 people have downloaded this, thanks to everyone. I will be redoing the 1990 carset for Nascar 2003 for those who are interested. I'm getting started on it now thanks to the early release of the car templates, but we'll see how these 90 cars look on the new car models when the game is released. I have a feeling the old grills may look silly this time around. This will probably be were the most reworking is required. also I plan on doing a better job on the driver ratings this time, we will try to get a better mix of different cars up front. Thanks again. These cars are a blast to race with. I also found out that it is always the same people up front, Elliot, Earnhardt, Martin, Schrader, and Bodine. Otherwise, this set of cars rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The set may get updated in the future. I figured most of the interest was gone in the 90 set. I've added some updated cars and they weren't downloaded by many people. I have several updates in the works so check back every once in a while.

Hi! Thanks for all the info. It is coming back to me now. I remeber that Phil only drove a few at the start of the season. I found a dicast picture of the Ernie Irvan #90 Ford Thuderbird. Nascarnut2 Phil Parsons was fired after 3 races and Ernie then took the ride. Neil was hurt at race 5 Darlington. Joe Ruttman was in a white pontiac with Sears Roadhandler as the sponsor. Skipjack and I have a small picture of it but it's too small to do. Also we have a small picture of the 16 car. The others we don't have a picture of at this time. Just use the 4 car for Phil and the 21 car for Neil in your 500 car set. Pip

Hi Skipjack! Great job on the 1990 set. I really enjoy driving these cars. They are very accurate. I am trying to get the starting line up for the 1990 Daytona 500 and I was hoping you could answer a couple of questions I have. My first question is was Phil Parsons the drive of the Kodak #4 Oldsmobile? If so do you have this car? If you do could you please email it to me. My next question is that I have Neil Bonnet as the driver of the Wood Brothers #21 Citgo ford. I have also seen Dale Jarrett listed as the driver of this car. Which one is correct? Is this the year that Neil had that bad wreck at Darlington? Did Dale Jarrett replace him? I am looking for the following cars to complete the starting field. #02 Rich Bickle Oldsmobile #90 Ernie Irvan Ford Thunderbird #32 Joe Ruttman Pontiac #53 Jerry O'Neill Oldsmobile #23 Eddie Bierschwale Oldsmobile Do you have any of these cars? It's somewhat hard to get 43 cars, unless we add winston west cars or cars that ran at the Glen. In 1990 they (nascar) didn't start 43 cars every race. The short tracks only ran 36 cars. So it's hard to find pictures of cars to fill the set. PIP

Very doubtful I could put the time and effort into another complete set like this. I had done the 90 cars for N2 so I had a lot of reference material saved from that and with pips help I was able to make some big improvements to what I had. Maybe you'll see the 90 cars for Nascar 6 or 7. We have plans to make a few more 90 cars and I may try a few Days of Thunder cars.

dude so incredibly sweet! this is definatly the greatest car set ever. unfortunatly i was too young to remeber that year, but i do have them on tape. I am most certainly downloading this tonight. Keep up the great work....-And from what I've seen on video, and heard from my dad, Rob would've become won of NASCAR's greatest. Along with Davey and certainly Adam Petty...Three drivers that never really had a chance to shine

just to point it out Dale may have won alot but if it weren't for a oversized carburetor(sp?) and the loss of 46 points Mark Martin would have won that year but still the ratings are fine with me

Rob Moroso was 16 years old when he started racing in the Nascar Dash series, he won his first race at Dominion Speedway on June 8 1985 and was the youngest driver to win a Nascar event. He continued in the Dash series in 1986 while still going to high school in CT and finished second in points and was voted the series most popular driver. The next year he graduated from high school and moved to Charlotte and up to the BGN series. Rob made his WC debut driving for a new team formed by Felix Sabates and the crew cheif was Gary Nelson, he started 34th and finished 14th at Charlotte. In 1989 Rob won 6 races in BGN and was the champion beating out Jack Ingram. 1990 he ran full time WC and was the highest finishing rookie in every race he started, his best points race was the Pepsi 400 at Daytona finishing 9th. He was known for his aggressive driving style and his favorite track was Charlotte Motor Speedway were he won 3 BGN races in a row, a record that still stands today. Rob almost won the Winston Open race held before the Winston, but was passed with a few laps to go by Dick Trickle. Ironically the next race after his death would have been Charlotte. That is a very brief rundown of his career in racing which was always done with his father by his side. One of the things I remember most about Rob was how much he liked to kid around with everyone and he was famous for making goofy faces when ever a camera was near by.

Yes, I've been noticing it's usually Dale, Martin & Rusty up at the front all the time with this set. No complaints here though! GREAT job on this, I'm sure this took a lot of hard work, and it's much appreciated. It's fun to run them on the unrestricted Dega track. As to who this is dedicated to, I had never heard of him, but always eager to find out more. Learn somethin new everyday...

Sure the points battle was close but Dale was the top car with 9 wins,9 other finishes in the top 5 and 5 more in the top 10. thats a total of 23 top 10's in 29 races. He had one DNF and 4 poles. Maybe I should have mentioned in the readme the 3 car's driver ratings are a little too high, but I like it that way. If you want Dale a little more normal, which he wasn't in 1990 change the ratings closer to the 6 car. Also I'd like to say that by dedicating this to the memory of Rob Moroso it was not intended to diminish the deaths of Dale Earnhardt or Davey Allison or Alan Kulwicki or J.D. McDuffie or Neil Bonnett who also ran 5 races in 1990. I was a Dale Earnhardt fan before I ever heard of Rob Moroso but I'm a yankee from CT. Maybe that will help y'all understand why I'd like him to be remembered. If it weren't for this set would any of you have given him a thought this year?

1990 was my first full season of becoming a NASCAR fan. I have watched every WC race since Atlanta in November, 1989. That was 391 races ago. I have a collection of MAXX race cards from 1990. Boy, these take me back to what I beleive was a simpler time in NASCAR. Of course I was 7 yrs old, so that definitely was a simpler time, if not for NASCAR, for me anyway.

I remember he got killed after the race, I think he was driving back to Charlotte when it happened. But I do remember it was a car wreck after the race.
