Guys, RG/WCPainter's work is quite excellent. I checked it out. It is worth looking at, believe me. Even though I saw what I think to be a minor mistake on one, it is really, really, really really good. I didn't put Gordon's name on the title, and I put the disclaimer about it being close but not perfect to try and avoid all this, but really the "complaints" if you will, were not all that far off base - if I was claiming it to be accurate, which I didn't. Just wanted to make my position clear. I might do this car over again, and this time it will be accurate thanks to the picture he provided me.

i say that there should be a rule on this site where you need to post a good car before whining about another version. would keep away all the idiots that come here just to complain. i thought this site wasnt very good, but i found out that its just some people on here that drag it down. some of us havent painted that long and dont have a "real site" to go to

The reason I have nothing posted here is because I post at a real site. Simracingdesign.com. Look me up, WCPainter....I make the Gordon cars, and as you can see, it looks spot on. For the record, Houston, nothing you said offended me in the least. What you said was spot on as I didn't have that huge picture to go by. What does offend me is when somebody - who has absolutely nothing posted on this site - nitpicks the way RG has. I hope he does do one, and I hope it's perfect so nobody picks at it like he has this one. I was going off a very small picture and had to do a lot of guesswork on some things. RG, you are totally off base on your comments about the numbers. They might be a little off sized and that's it. As far as the Nicorette logo on the rear quarters, the only thing wrong is the stroke is a little thin. The diecast has only one dot over the "i", but pictures of the real car have 4. I was looking at last season's car, but I just figured the real car this year may end up with the same logo as diecasts are rarely perfect representation of the real thing. The only thing wrong with the TV panel is the small graphic that goes with "automotive finishes" as I couldn't tell what it really looks like and pasted something that looks generally like it. The "o" on the trunk was not white because it came from last year's logo. And I don't have his signature on it because what's the friggin point? You can't see it, or the decklid, or the little graphics, or the stripes on the hood for that matter in the game. As far as the flames go, they are very close in pattern at least to the 06 car. The flames on the diecast look different, and from the small car I didn't want to try to do them so I used the larges pic I could find and it was on Speed channel's site and they are very close to that car in pattern. I could do this car over, and I wish I had that larger pic, but I doubt I will, as I seldom do repro's and this is basically why. I could have, and probably should have spent a ton more time on it. I did it because one hadn't been done and it will hold people's "fix" over until something better comes along. I did this thing in one night and finished it at 4 am. I stated that it's close and it's not perfect, but that doesn't suit some I suppose. If somebody wants one that is perfect, either wait for one or do one yourself. It's a simle as that.

Honestly racerman, you did a great job. How small can the rest of you people be. He said that was all he was going to do and that was the end of it. Instead of picking apart his work because you don't think it's correct, I haven't seen anyone else release the car. GROW UP and leave the man alone.

I think this car looks GREAT!! If it means anything to you, I think this one looks better than the "real" image. HMS should make the real car look like this one. I think these flames look better than with the heavier yellow outline. Is there any way you would be willing to share the base? redintrepid9@charter.net THANKS!!

Well, I copied and pasted that link before, but this time it worked. That's a huge picture. If I had that the car would be a lot closer to correct. As it stands, I'm done with it. I posted it knowing somebody would do one better - or at least say they would. Anyway, I'm done with it. You guys can continue throwing rocks.

Can you link to a picture of the real car? The only place I've seen it is the diecast picture on Jaski's and I see no stripes on the hood. I see shadows from the hood creases but no stripes. If you're going to point something out as missing, please source it. That link you posted isn't leading to a picture. Otherwise, I guess don't download it if it doesn't meet your approval. I reloaded the car because I got some sleep and altered a few things. Darkened the green some and scrunched the flames on the sides some and added a black stroke to nicorette on the rear quarters.

hey you guys are too perfectionists if you want the 100% spot on than do it yourself as for this car it is awesome, ya the stripes on the hood aren't there so what like he said he was tired

You tried, and you tried hard but it is just far from right. You're missing his signature, the Nicorette logo is wrong on the rear QP, as Kevin said, there are stripes on the hood, your side flames are off, the Nicorette logo on the hood shouldn't be green, its black and blue, make the hood flames more visible, the numbers are way off, your the "O" on Miracles Of Science should be white, not pink, the Pepsi, GMAC, Q, and Dupont Automotive finishes logos are all wrong, and a bunch of other detial things that stand out. Look at this link. http://www.jayski.com/schemes/2007/24cup.htm This is what I based it on. There are no stripes on the hood. The flames on the hood look a little different on the diecast than they do on the real car. I see no underline on Nicorette. Looks green to me. Don't know why it'd be blue on a green car. The flames on the front of my car are the same color as the main green of the car...like the real one. The entire thing looks lighter than it is from the render. If you want to gig me for something, gig me for not giving Nicorette on the rear quarters a black stroke. I presume Houston will come out with a corrected version soon. Hell, I don't even say it's Gordon's car LOL!

Dude, great job. Houston, did you not read what he wrote, he said it's not perfect and that's all he felt like doing. If you want a better one, then do it yourself.

Nice but your missing the stripes on the hood and the Bottom Front Flames are suppose to be darker, Nicorrette Logo is suppose to have an outline under the QP, the hood Nicorrette is suppose to be a Dark Blue and the Darker green is suppose to be Darker the Flames outline is suppose to be Yellow like the Nicorrette logo it should also be a bit thicker and the Flames on the Door Panel look wrong your missing a sig

Two people downloaded it before I re-uploaded a car that has a number on the taillight. You guys got one without. It's fixed. NOW, Im going to bed.
