They each have their own brand of tools. Home Depot has "Husky" and Lowe's has "Kobalt." Contingency sponsors shouldn't be thought of like true competitors, they are really everyone's sponsor. The Coke/Pepsi analogy isn't really the same. MAC tools are not brought to market through normal retail channels. They are sold primarily to professional mechanics, through distributors much like Snap-On. When someone walks in to a supermarket, they see Coke and Pepsi side by side, and choose one, or the other...Direct competition. Home Depot & Lowe's make the majority their money the same way a Supermarket does...The walk-in public. They probably don't think of MAC as a competitor. Now if MAC were to start opening stores, or if they began selling to either Home Depot or Lowe's, you can bet the other store would make sure those decals vanish pretty quick. If they don't think of MAC as a rival, and considering contingency sponsors have $$$ for the teams, why stand in the way of a win-win for their teams.

I didn't know that Lowes, or Home Depot had their own brand of tools, only sold in their stores like CT does. Would a Pepsi car have a coke contig on it? I think not, same thing. Why promote the competitor.

Good looking car! As for the tool companies, the new "CTC" series will have it's own set of contingencies,and with the painters around here, I'm sure we'll be able to update when available. Using the "MAC" logo in contingency cluster is up to the team/sponsor with the conflict (Gibbs uses it on the #20...Hendrick does not have one on the #48, but does use it on the #5 & #24). Don't know anything about the logo in front of rear tire. Very well done.
