Today is 01/15/2023. Interesting to look back on everyone's thoughts and opinions all these years later. Bill Elliott never did run the #9 in 2004 like some of the people here thought he would in the select races he'd run. Kasey Kahne ran the #9 for the entire season. Bill also did not run the #9 for his final race like some also speculated. He never ran the number again after 2003.

my sources say bill WILL run the 9 in HIS LAST RACE DONE DEAL! thats cool tho and yeah he is half owner. thats why the points went from the 94 to 9. same owner new #. also that would mean the pts wouldnt go to the 91. would be cool to see bill in the 9 guess its the same as if terry retired. however i think bill would be in the 9 since all else is odd in cup lol.

Acctually they can transfer points from one car to another, thats where Bill's points came from in 2001 the #94's 2000 points. Here an exact quote from Bill: Elliott said, "Right now when I run I'll run the 9; Kasey will run the 9 when I'm not racing." Although from the sponsors standpoint that makes it hard, its possible Kahne could run the #91 all season with the points from the #9 transfered to it or he could run the #9 all season but the schemes still haven't been released. I guess I in a way just don't want a rookie to take Bill's #. I mean would the Earnhardt Sr. fans have liked it if Harvick would have drove the #3, now things were a little different there but the same principles apply. I just think that it would be more appropriate with Kahne in the #91 all season and Bill running a limited schedule in the #9. Also as far as your inside source goes you might want to remind them that Bill is half owner of the #9 so if he wants to drive the #9 then he can:). So it all comes down to what Bill and Ray decide.

FACT: Khane in the 9 because of owner points. Bill in the 91 for up to 15 races. thats what ive read on jayski and its what makes sense but robo thats a great point nonetheless

I'm not sure they would do this, but they could enter the Kasey Kahne car as #109 and Elliot as #9, so anytime that Elliot races he would use the 9 and Kahene 09, but when he isn't racing it would be the 9 for Kahne. Alot of teams have done that, Childress did it when Andretti drove the aol 9.0 car, it was listed as 190, because Donleavy owns the 90, but his car didn't race. Just my two cents. -Robo

awesomebill#9....Bill will run a different car because Kasey will run for ROTY this meaning he will have to run the same car all season. Bill will (I'm assuming) run the #91, but that would be subject to change.

no no no bill will race the 9 again when he makes his last start an he said that could be a long way from now hes not retriein...plus ray said the number is gonna be the sponcers pick...sounds like the old m might be on bills car this year...o an yeah that most likely wont be the paint for next year...i got some inside info :)

Acctually Bill said when he raced he would use the #9 and Kahne would use the #91. Also EMS hasn't released the schemes either.

sorry for the crappy pic. looks EXCELLENT in the game. i found a way to make the cars almost super hi-res using the normal hi-res temps.
