I grew up eating my share of Flemington dirt. (for those that don't know, it is in Flemington NJ, roughly middle of the state). My family had raced there for years. (Some frequenters might remember the name Butler or Shire, that would be them). But bottom line, I really don't see the current owner ever opening it up again. And there are plenty of developers foaming at the mouth to get their hands on it. They think that location will thrive, even though there is a mostly abandoned(for several years now)mall less than a mile up the road. Ahhh, how I'd love to see a few more races at that track though...Thx for the link, I signed it!

I grew up watching and racing mods / late models at the flemington and nazareth dirt tracks. A little fyi, flemingtion was paved over because the locals were getting mad becuase of all the dust. Since then the track went down hill and sadly, there isn't anything that can be done to save the track.. The town will vote the track out and thats to bad.. that track made the town into what it is today. I still have race programs from the 70's and 80's. Back when tom hager, jumping jack and brett hearn rubbed tires. Don't fer get jimmy spencer and mario.. damn i feel really old now...

I live about a mile from the track, God only knows what's gonna happen with it. I have heard all kinds of rumors.

NO!! it shouldnt(sorry mismartinfan6) but to but a strip mall in? thats some BS there... save the track!!! i dont even know where its at.. but save all the tracks... we got strip malls on every corner... but we dont have racetracks on every corner....

I know you want to support the track, and i'm sure its a terrific track (sorry, don't know where or what track it is, and i didn't start watchin racing till 98), but this should be in the forum.

i have been to this track a couple years ago for the modifieds, and let me tell you, that was one of the best nights at the races for me in a long time. i live near the recently revived Wall Township Speedway, formerly known as Wall Stadium where Ray Evernham got his start in racing. ill tell you, plenty of drivers today wouldnt be where they are today without those local short tracks with their great saturday night racing. this track also helped evolve the truck series into what it is today. dont let this legendary track be pushed out of the way for another gap store or something.
