That is the list from US News on Mechanical Engineering, the best source of college rankings. I agree UNCC is good to go to for NASCAR because of the proximity to NASCAR shops and lower exiting salaries compared to the higher ranked engineering schools and NASCAR has trends in hiring in family or local sources. Just like if you were going into the car industry it is good to go to the Univ. of Michigan because of the proximity to corporate headquarters of major car companies. Also, motorsports is such a small piece of mechanical engineering jobs, that the fact that it is good to go to UNCC for NASCAR, that won't be represented in rankings so take that into effect in the rankings.

im sorry vol, but maybe you should get your facts straight, those are the top engineering schools not mechanical. if you are going into motorsports it is recomended at uncc that you take the mechanical engineering with a focus in motorsports. if you are going to be such an dick you should check out my college of engineering website so that you are not talking out of your ass.

By the way anyone who calls it motorsports engineering degree has no idea what they are talking about. It's a mechanical engineering degree, you can't contract yourself out as an engineer in most states unless you take the professional engineering test in your field, and the test for racing engineers would be the mechanical test.

If you want to say I am stupid for saying NASCAR then you are going to get chewed up for saying motorsports engineering degree. The degree is actually a mechanical engineering degree, unless you get it from one of those crappy NASCAR colleges. Your not even an engineer if you get it from one of those schools. You wouldn't be able to pass the P.E. with the kind of analytical skills you showed on this board. By the way the odds of dying on the interstate in a normal car accident is more likely than dying in a NASCAR race. That's actually a proven fact.

i would watch it, if you would read the stats bud, driving a race car is one of the most dangerous types of jobs. i work on the cars and in the process of going to get my motorsports engineering degree, i know almost very thing on them. also, the "slang" word is used by ppl that dont understand the sport and are to dumb to figure it out. leave me alone, i have a neutral opinion on race car drivers b/c i know a few, so i choose not to be a critic of their skills, unlike some ppl.

You apparently are not very intelligent, because if you would have did the research like I said you would have found out that truck driving was listed as a top five most dangerous job. Now you just look like a moron because you didn't research it and you are wrong. As far as me calling the cars - nascars, lots of people call them nascars and it has become a slang term for the race car. You cannot really call them stock cars anymore because there is only like 2 parts that are on the car that are on their stock counterpart. You criticizing me for calling the cars, nascars, would be like making fun of people for calling certain open wheel cars, indy cars. It was a feeble attempt by someone who is uneducated to lash out.

I decided to be the more logical person and deleted all my comments. You can't or won't try to view anything from an unbiased point of view, so you can keep living in ignorance. The fact of the matter is a Truck Driver that transports the NASCAR's is considered a more dangerous job than a NASCAR driver. If you don't believe me, do some research, race car driver's are not even in the top ten of dangerous jobs. So if you respect them for risking their lives for you, maybe that risk is not as great as you thought. Great job on the paint job. Let's move on.

ok goodwrench83 the reason i put that about kyle is because i iam friends with the pettys and the fact that he keeps racing after his son was killed makes me respect the man even more. i know about all of the charity work cause i have helped out and i have always repected him for that. now iam not a dumb redneck fan that doesnt think there is more to the sport than whats on tv, so dont even try screwing with me cause you cant even reach the level im at in racing.

VOL you wouldnt even succed in the modifides.....dont be dissing steve park....ppl use to diss dale junior and kevin harvick and look how good they are now.....its gonna be the same way for steve park so just shut your pie hole and maybe watch some nascar......i can tell you dont watch nascar cuz if you think park sucks then you got issues dude....the #1 car is the worst team in dei and its not because of steve its the guys that work on the car and the crew chief.....after paul anderws left the #1 team thats when park started sliding......he is with a great team (RCR)there as good if not better then DEI simply cuz they put time and effort in all the cars and not just the 2 outa 3 like DEI does......i think you will see steve park win a few races this yea in the #30 car if not more

Thanks for your comments VolEngineer, but next time keep them to yourself. Everyone respects our troops and teachers like you said. And about Park taking Newman out at California if you know what you were talking about you would realize how bad a car handles on cold tires at the start of a race. And them making it 3 wide on the first lap didnt help. Race fans SHOULD respect drivers that are killed doing their job FOR US FANS

my opinion is that park has the talent to still get it done. he had a major accident that almost killed him and its tuff to recover from that. look at craven, he got over his injuries and now he's won a couple of races and has been in the 10 in points. give it time and the right team and park will b back up their.

Ok Vol you are really upsetting me now b/c I do have friends that race and some are actual NASCAR drivers in the top series. I dont appreciate comments like you have made, i have seen the efects of racing on a family, The Pettys, and they should be given as much respect as if not more than Dale Earnhardt Jr. If yuo watched races and understood that it is a business you could see the reasons for Park being released, I cant remember him taking some one out and the CA wreck was because of the psi of the tires, i asked the crew.

I am a big steve park fan and a big dei fan. I'm glad steve found a new ride so quick. I don't think he will ever be a champion, but he is an underdog i like to pull for. As for dei, why green,,,, oh why did they pic green.
